LASER Project - Good Practice Guidelines
The need for the 'Good Practice Guidelines'
Background:
'Observations at LASER schemes showed that practice was variable. There were many observations of excellent practice where children were clearly learning about safety and practicing new skills. However, there were also examples where children learned less effectively. Many presenters used excellent methods for communicating with children, whilst others used less suitable techniques. The observations showed that LASER schemes have excellent potential to deliver high quality and effective safety education, and that many achieved it. The aim of these guidelines is to identify this good practice and point out pitfalls that might hinder it'
